This is an apartment project with a unique atmosphere: here modern trends and a current view of comfort are intertwined with classics.
The apartment is located in the center of Moscow, in a house built in 1928 – and this location is already shaping the character. When developing the project, I wanted to preserve the special spirit of history, but without obvious references to the past.
In the corridor there are two stone columns connecting the kitchen and living room – they act as dominant elements that create the geometry of the space.
There is a lot of wood in all rooms: the facades of furniture both in living rooms and in the kitchen are made of it. The wooden elements are located almost end to end with each other, while their shade matches perfectly with the walls decorated in taupe shades. The result was the desired effect of discreet nobility combined with maximum comfort.
The ceilings also deserve special attention: in the bedroom, children’s room and bathroom they are colored. And in the living room and kitchen, the ceiling spaces are decorated with stucco, which emphasizes the classic features of the decor.
All doors are made to the full height of the room – this gives the atmosphere a special shine. And when the doors are open, the spaces look truly majestic.
Type: Three room flat
Location: Moscow
Area: 85 sq.m
Year: 2024
The kitchen and living room are connected through the hallway, where stone columns simultaneously serve as zoning elements and unification of the space.
The private part is located out of sight of the hallway – this is the bedroom, children’s room, shower room, dressing room.
The main difficulty was solving the problem of combining the living room and kitchen. Here, initially it was necessary to preserve the supporting elements in a rather dilapidated building with wooden floors – and we succeeded.
The interior turned out to be modern, comfortable and stylish, while the apartment retained the flair of the historical building.
